  4. I want to read more about security

There is very little information on the site about the security of OpenID. I believe that there are big potential problems with identity theft if someone can login on a lot of different sites with one ID.

Additionally I want to know how I can be sure I'm actually logging in on an OpenID enabled site. How can I see that I'm not being scammed into giving away my username and password to a host of very personal sites?

  5. Providers should allow others providers OpenID to be used on their sites

As an example, I've registered with google gmail, so I have an OpenId account from google. Let say I want a Yahoo email account, and I want to use my OpenId from gmail, well I don't see any option for that from yahoo.

Some providers give the option to use existing OpenID but hidden in very small print. Competition I guess.

All these defeat the simplicity mention by openid in the first place.

  6. "Do I have an OpenID?" link

I'd like to see a "Do I have an OpenID" link or tool as a prominent option on the landing page. While your second main option for "everyone" tells me I might have an OpenID and not know it, when I click that link it tells me how to USE my OpenID, but not how to find out if I have one. If there is a link like this somewhere, it wasn't prominent/obvious enough for me to find easily.

  7. traurig

es ist traurig, dass solche seiten nicht mehrsprachig entwickelt werden, denn menschen die nicht so gut englisch sprechen, haben keine chance auf OpenID

  8. OpenID should be extended to supply information for registration forms

I would be great to be able to have OpenID and its supporting websites using the service to fill-out registration forms, etc. As a developer I would adopt OpenID and register an account myself.

  9. New web and Spacious as the reputation goes ahead

I have crafted few words. Working out new words accounts and at age people find it difficult to click through web pages finding links. When they want to log-in into their personal shelf it would be appropriate that their choice would be start with a single button according to the area of content click on a single button that appear on the desktop window. This might be confusing for understanding but I have a complete picture in my mindset. The World Wide Web consortium developing new word accounts for spacious knowledge bank would know a tech-mba graduate they would be…

  11. What and how is OpenID

For 2 days I'm trying to understand the concept and how it works and still can't. Not one good explanation or demo that someone not familiar with the subject can understand. Very frustrating!

  13. identifier in email like format

    Instead of identifying myself with:
    http://example.net/john-doe

    I would prefer:
    john-doe@example.net

We could have a standard approach where identifier@domain translates to http://domain/identifier

I think it would give OpenID more human friendly feel than using URL format.

  17. OpenID.net should offer a test page for OPs

I'd appretiate if OpenID.net could offer a test page for OPs. I'm currently setting up an OpenID server and there was a test service offered by Jan Rain which is now done for something felt like ages.

So a page where you could test the OpenID you offer with test cases for all the situations which can appear telling you what's ok and what's wrong.

  18. Allow data exchange between relying parties

Some social sites allow webmail account logins on behalf of the user to build contact lists (find your Facebook friends from your GMail contacts; simply enter your GMail username and password). That involves distributing a password to a third-party, never a great idea.

I wonder if OpenID can be extended to solve this problem, by creating a one-time login token (or a smarter mechanism in the same spirit); of course user approbation is crucial.

  19. this is inscrutably broken. Fix. Then fix explanations.

Surprise! I may already have an OpenID... but have no way to use it that I can fathom from your instructions. "How do I log in with OpenID?" says I'll see just one thing to fill in... but I see two. And then I get shunted to a "go login somewhere else" notice... and none of this crazy stuff works.

I'm a web expert, so this is epic fail. And have already given this 10x the attention I would normally before just running away.

And just to ice this putrid cake... the "New Idea" widget loops uselessly on [Suggest it!].…
