  1. Combination of IDs.

    Before I heard about OpenID, I allready had multiple IDs for sites:
    yahoo - mail and fantasy sports
    google -- android, mail, blogger
    Trillian (includes AIM, GTalk, YMessenger)
    Hotmail (Live Games, MSN Msg, Email)
    Blogger
    Facebook
    Photobucket
    Exchange Email
    and so on.
    I like the concept of the open ID, but what happens when over time, I already have amassed the ids for the sites. It really doesn't help because now, when I click on make OpenID, I get a different url from each site. my.yahoo.com/username, google.com/username and so on.

  4. OpenID should allow relying parties to supply information to the server at any time.

    OpenID allows the server to provide limited data to the relying parties through the SReg extension. However, this doesn't permit the relying parties to supply information about the user back to the server. Take for example, game achievements. The relying party might have information about game achievements a user has earned, but there is no methodology to allow the relying party to share this information with other sites (not just the server) without becoming an OpenID provider itself. Unfortunatly, oAuth's design requires it to have a secret pre-shared between the relying party and the provider, obviously not viable for thousands…

  5. What and how is OpenID

    For 2 days I'm trying to understand the concept and how it works and still can't. Not one good explanation or demo that someone not familiar with the subject can understand. Very frustrating!

  7. What is my OpenId?

    I'm trying to use my OpenId on http://dynamicsuser.net, but I don't know what to enter in the OpenID field! It requires an URL!?
    Checking out the OpenID website does not help me much! I already have an OpenId - in fact I apparently have 6-7 - but I cant seem to find any information about what to enter in the OpenID URL field when logging in!

  9. I want to read more about security

    There is very little information on the site about the security of OpenID. I believe that there are big potential problems with identity theft if someone can login on a lot of different sites with one ID.

    Additionally I want to know how I can be sure I'm actually logging in on an OpenID enabled site. How can I see that I'm not being scammed into giving away my username and password to a host of very personal sites?

  10. Support unspecified, "other", or "decline to state" gender

    OpenID and Connect currently supports only "male" and "female" for gender options.

    Many existing systems support other options for gender such as "other" or "decline to state", representing:

    - Users whose gender expression is neither male nor female (androgynous or genderqueer);
    - Users whose biological sex is neither male nor female (intersex conditions)
    - Users who decline to state their gender for privacy reasons (notably, women seeking to avoid unwanted sexual propositions or harassment);
    - Services where gender is simply not relevant to the application.

  19. Provide a logout ability or only authenticate with provider

    This is one of the major security flaws I have found in the OpenID platform. Users are not properly informed that they are (not with all providers) being logged into their OpenID providers site as well.

    The session for the site they originally logged into is controlled separately from the provider. This leaves their main account open to be abused.
